Dr. Benny Peiser of the UK Global Warming Policy Foundation gave an enlightening climate policy presentation to an audience in Calgary, Canada on April 9, 2024 about Europe’s Net Zero Rebellion. Dr. Peiser told them about the dire consequences of Net Zero policies. Europe set stringent climate policies decades ago which, by 2013, were causing 'an industrial massacre' as industry and jobs moved offshore. They then adopted Net Zero climate targets and things got much worse!

As the rising cost of Europe’s radical climate policies are hitting households and businesses ever harder, a growing backlash is forcing governments across Europe to water down, delay and roll back their Net Zero plans. In his talk Dr. Peiser discussed Europe’s accelerating energy-cost-induced economic decline, and the lessons for Canada of the economic consequences of a forced energy transition.
Dr. Benny Peiser is the director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation. The London-based, non-partisan organisation is one of the world’s leading climate and energy policy think tanks. The GWPF regularly publishes reports and papers on the economic, social and societal risks of unilateral climate policies.
